The location was excellent. Very handy to get around and easy to get to from the train station. Everyone we encountered was very friendly. Staff seemed to be professionally trained. Breakfast was delicious. One day was very busy and we had some minor issues at breakfast having to wait for some items but was quickly taken care of when we brought it to the server's attention. We had some cocktails at the bar one night and they were delicious, also had a sandwich there which was okay but could have been a little tastier or fresher maybe. Our room was very spacious and had a great view of the castle. The safe had a good size and was not as small as you sometimes find them. We appreciated the coffee making facilities in the room. We found the atmosphere in the room and hotel very pleasant and felt safe and comfortable. Overall our room was very comfortable and we also appreciated staying in a house with history.

All the staff were helpful and friendly while still being professional. Room clean and comfortable, well thought out curtains that did block all the early morning light out, meaning we weren't woken at tge crack of dawn. Breakfast was fabulous and it is great having parking on site.
