The staff is super friendly and very helpful, they really try to make you feel good and taken care of. The location is perfect between Mandan, Podil, Golden Gates thus several metro stations are 10-15 min away by foot, 5 min by car. There’s free unlimited drinkable water, different services on request (iron, washing, breakfast, it’s possible to leave the luggage, 24h reception desk). The place is clean, quite cosy and calm, there’s a bomb shelter.

Perfect location in the very heart of Kyiv downtown, close to both the Maidan and the St.Michael Cathedral. Meanwhile, as the hotel is located in a small valley, it is very quiet. Besides, this 'sunken' position offers some protection also against potential fragments falling down after air raids. Staff is very friendly and helpful, most of them speak English. An important feature is that you can park your car inside the courtyard (parking in downtown Kyiv is always a hassle). The hotel keeps functioning despite the blackouts, staff uses lamps and power banks. Price is very reasonable, in fact, a lot better than what one calls "value for money". All in all, Hotel Gintama Apgrade is highly recommended, if you need an affordable and convenient place to stay in downtown Kyiv.
