Our three-day stay in a two-bedroom villa at The Capitana in Key West, booked for its promise of a spacious, beautiful space with a kitchen, came at double the price of a standard hotel room but fell far short of expectations. To our dismay, we arrived around 6 PM to find the villa still not ready, setting a frustrating tone for the stay. The villa itself was a highlight—really beautiful, nicely decorated, and spacious, living up to its promise of a premium aesthetic. However, the kitchen was a major disappointment, equipped with just two small pans, one skillet, and no can opener, making cooking nearly impossible. When we asked the staff for a can opener, they responded that guests typically don’t cook and admitted they didn’t have one, though they helpfully improvised with a creative solution. Despite their effort, the lack of basic kitchen tools was a significant oversight. Adding to the inconvenience, the dining table had only three chairs for a villa meant for four. The villa’s location was another significant letdown. Marketed as premium, it was detached from the main complex, separated by the parking lot, forcing us to walk through it and the lobby to reach the pool.

The hotel was lovely and really well kept. Letting us check in early was great. There were lots of seating in the foyer. The room was lovely and large. The bed was cosy and the decor nice. The balcony was a good size. The complimentary water, tea and coffee was a nice touch. The free parking was handy. The pool area was nice, a little small though. The pool beds, observing the sea were lovely. The breakfast was nice. The location to all of Key Wests main sights was very central.

So clean, service from all staff was exceptional. All very accommodating. Very pleased with the breakfast offering. Water and ice was very handy to have on each floor and a great touch.

What a marvelous place to stay! We initially booked for 3 nights but decided to prolong our stay as we loved the Capitana that much. The hotel looks as if it was brand new. It is extremaly clean and well kept. The staff is friendly, helpful and descreet. Delicious breakfast, nespresso cafe with a great number of coffee capsules as well as huge parking are included in price. The garden/ relax area is lovely. The swimming pool is heated!! This is a place to stay at Key West!
