“Perfect place for using the lake”

The hotel is great for swimmers/paddle boarders anyone wanting to use the lake as it was a 2 minute walk over a bridge and to our own little Jetty. We left our paddle board bags and went off no worries about leaving belongings. It was ideal. Our room (number 40) had a balcony and loungers looking over the gap in the trees to see the lake which I loved it, I think we had the best room. There was some negative reviews about food- we didn’t eat dinner but had the breakfast. Both had eggs royal and there was a table with bread cereals pancakes etc to help yourself. We thought it was fine!

It’s certainly a lovely location, and the room was clean. It was convenient to be able to share the family room with our teen (there’s a bunk bed).

Excellent location on the shore of Derwent water. Beautiful scenic views from the hotel garden and patio/outdoor seating area. Peaceful and relaxing environment. The hotel bird feeders encouraged a wealth of birds, which gave an added dimension. Good public transport - convenient local bus to Keswick and Seatoller, and direct access to boat service on the lake. Plenty of walks from the hotel doorstep. All this meant the car could be left unused for a couple of days. Dog friendly. Good shower with limitless hot water.
