Room larger than expected with sitting room. Although the last visitors for the season before closing we were welcomed well on a stopover for the Queen Charlotte Sound walk. Provided with a pizza dinner. Beautiful view.

There's lots to do at Te Mahia - hiking, kayaking, swimming - but it's tempting just to lounge on the deck or stroll along the beach and enjoy the beautiful bay. On a clear night the dark sky is amazing - great view of the Milky Way. The apartment is in an old house, rather quirky, with many thoughtful touches - flowers in the room, plenty of towels, beautiful quilts and throws. The kitchen is very well equipped.

The wifi did not work for us, but that did not have an impact on our visit. Apparently it can be unstable and the owners were up front about it. The food was ok but pricey for what you get. They did not have to provide either though, so it was a big bonus that they offered it to us.
