A great location on the hill above Kato Zakros. Outside were hammocks, lots of chairs to gaze over the valley to the sea. Inside was very traditional (the clue is in the name...) with dark decor and collections of old farrier tools on the walls. Not like anywhere else we have stayed! Kitchen area and bathroom with the bathroom easily reached from the bed. A great night at the local taverna, recommended by our host, who was charming, and lovely views. The sea front restaurants are all lovely. Zakros and the mountains are a must-see.

The atmosphere is so peaceful, natural, and lush. Rustic and a nice , decorated architecture ! Compliments for the 2, so friendly ladies, who beside cleaning even gave us great cookies!! Lovely, young and warm host! The scenery and view, I almost forgot

Exceptionally located, quiet oasis to unwind and relax. A million spots for relaxation, great view, super clean and very well maintained place. If you are looking for some peace and quiet look no further, Kato Zakros and Stella's place are a hidden gem of Eastern Crete. Life flows differently there.
