This hotel is a very welcoming place, we had a flight cancellation and the whole time until we got our new flights set, they were always checking on us to coordinate our transport, they were very understanding of our situation and it meant a lot under the stress of not being able to come at all. Breakfast was good and the location is also very convenient, everybody was extremely nice and helpful, they provide information about places to see and even called a taxi for us on "local rate". A big special thank you to Bijaya and Muna for their great support, we got a wonderful impression about Nepal and the warmth of their people, hoping to come back some day for a longer stay.

This is my 2nd stay at Hotel Thamel. The hotel provides simple accommodation and it is perfect as a base to set up for a trek. Most importantly, the hotel is clean and secure, and the staff are all super friendly and helpful. We were met at the airport, by the hotel van and delivered to the door very safely. The location is excellent, close to the heart of Thamel, but it is still very peaceful at night. There is an excellent restaurant just across the road for the weary. Breakfast, in the hotel, is very good. Our transfer out was arranged flawlessly despite the fact that everything was closed for the festival of the year. We couldn't have asked for better service. To summarise, we could have paid two or three times more for a more "upmarket" place but we wouldn't have had a better experience.
