I stayed at the hotel having had an excellent experience at the Grand Hotel in Taipei. While I felt having the lake and beautiful park right next door in Kaohsiung was an upgrade, the actual hotel was not on a par with the one in Taipei. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, however.

First and foremost I'd suggest to take a room with pool view, cose actual view is over the huge spectacular park and lake. That view is well worth of money. Room was large and... in former times well equipped. At that time place was quite empty so we enjoyed very quite, peaceful atmosphere. Yes, whole place reminds about remnants of former luxury... BTW - inhouse restaurant provides decent food for quite a reasonable money. My best regards to chef.

Great place, we come here repeatedly. The location is great to relax and close to the lake park.
