We specifically booked the AJ Grand Hotel in Mangalore because we were so impressed by the Ranjitha Palace Hotel in Udupi. Both hotels belong to the AJ Group. The AJ Grand in Mangalore is equally well-managed; the staff is consistently attentive and kind, and the rooms are excellent. Everything is clean and well-maintained. Just like the one in Udupi, the hotel’s vegetarian restaurant is sensational. All in all, it is a first-class hotel with a value for money that is hard to beat. We originally planned only a short stay in Udupi and Mangaluru, but thanks in no small part to these two great AJ Group hotels, we ended up staying two and a half weeks in Udupi and one and a half weeks in Mangaluru.
