My wife and I stayed at Chandi Mahal for 8 nights and honestly we had a wonderful experience. The only small negative was that we had to climb a few steps, but apart from that everything was positive. The place was very clean and perfect for relaxing. The owner is a very kind, generous, and humble person. He even allowed me to use his kitchen to cook our own meals, which we really appreciated. He never tried to charge extra for anything and was always helpful. We stayed in the budget room, which is separate from his own accommodation. He provided us with a fan, which was enough for us, although other rooms have air conditioning available. Transportation was very convenient. A tuk tuk to the town centre costs around 350 Sri Lankan rupees (about 79p), and there is also public transport right outside the house for only 50 rupees (around 11p sterling). If you are reasonably fit, you can even walk to the town centre using a shortcut. There are also local shops, Cargills supermarket and restaurants nearby the property, which made it easy to buy essentials or grab something to eat without going far. The free breakfast was excellent every morning — fruit juice, fresh fruit bowl, omelettes, toast with butter and marmalade or jam, tea, coffee, and even some Sri Lankan food for my wife. Everything was delicious. We honestly have nothing negative to say about our stay. I would happily give this place 110% and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area

I highly recommend this place. It’s a beautiful house. The host is so kind, attentive, and helpful! He gave us lots of great tips. The room and bathroom were fantastic—very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. In short, book this place without hesitation ❤️

The room is big and clean. The owner is very friendly and welcoming, he helped us with some recommendations around the area and things to do. Would recommend! :)

The host was very kind and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and he would ensure that we were satisfied with portions etc. Outside terrace is nice to sit on. One of the best WiFi we have had in Sri Lanka.
