The Excelsis is one of the best value for money offers in Kampala. The hotel is strategically located near the Northern Bypass, which makes it a practical option if you are traveling towards Jinja or Entebbe and want to avoid the dreadful Kampala traffic. Although small, the hotel has done a great job in fitting a restaurant, a car park, a bar and a nice garden in the inner courtyard. The bar and restaurant do play music during the day, but the hotel is quiet at night. The rooms are comfortable, clean and well-maintained, with spacious bathrooms and a small terrace. The AC works well and the TV has plenty of channels. The staff is professional and attentive, and the food at the restaurant is good.
