Guesthouse Green offers a variety of sleeping arrangements including bunk beds, capsule sleeping compartments and private rooms with a mattress or Japanese style. Each simple room is air-conditioned and non-smoking, with shared toilets.
The guesthouse is a 6-minute walk to the port to Yakushima and a 7-minute walk to the downtown Tenmonkan. You can rent a bicycle to make the trip even shorter. The property is a 10-minute drive from JR Kagoshima Train Station.
You can relax and chat at the common area or watch the flat-screen TV. Security lockers are available for use.

Relatively cheap (good for students) and close to the waterfront ferries and aquarium. Good kitchen, but a little cramped and well used (by the long-term residents, I suspect). Clean kitchen. Well-behaved guests. Rooftop open area a plus.
