The fine print
Based on local tax laws, guests with a tourist visa to Israel are exempted from paying VAT for their reservation. Israeli citizens and residents ("non tourists" as defined in the VAT law) must pay VAT. This tax is automatically calculated in the total cost of the reservation for domestic customers. For guests booking from outside of Israel, the tax is not included in the total price.

Further to my last review, identifying that this super hotel lets itself down somewhat, my partner reminds me that the beds could be more comfortable; perhaps they weren't changed when the hotel had its good refurbishment

We love this place; it’s unique in Jerusalem for being a Christian-Arab-run hotel in an historic building situated perfectly at the edge of central Jerusalem - convenient and near all the most important action while being peaceful, polite, civilised and not overpriced, and with great views. The more expensive rooms are worth the extra (suites and balcony rooms) and the refurbishment has mostly been a great success. Typically, the breakfast is superb (but see later)

Beautiful building, nice garden, excellent location, and bonus, fantastic view into the old city and Zion mountain, excellent breakfast in a nice dining room.
