We thought the location was beautiful: Very relaxed, peaceful and quiet. We woke up in the morning with the birds singing and cowbells. Also, the hosts were very, very friendly. The diner was very good. We had a glass of the very tasty local white wine (we took two bottles home).

The location was fabulous once we found it. It has a very long drive which is basically a single lane track so better to have a 4 wheel drive vehicle & make sure you aren't low on fuel as it's not near a fuel station. The rooms are really quaint and easily accessible from outside due to outdoor stairs to each level. The 2 gentlemen who run it are really friendly and the gentleman who did most of the hosting appears to also be the chef though not 💯 % sure, I would say the food is excellent whoever the chef was. We had Veal burger with chips and salad accompanied by their own brewed cider which was lovely. Breakfast was plentiful also and is a European breakfast. Views from the dining room and bedroom were simply gorgeous.

It’s a very quiet place, friendly staff and good if you are looking for something remote. Although there weren’t many vegetarian alternatives, staff was really accommodating with our meals. Internet worked really well, which is nice since there is often no reception. Nothing is really close (you need the car for everything) but the surroundings are beautiful and a short drive away from beautiful spots.

The Hotel Peruskenea stands in beautiful isolation on a wooded hillside with views over the adjoining countryside. Walking to the nearest village to seek out alternative bars/restaurants is not practical. You would need to travel by car/taxi, but in doing so you would miss out on the wonderful hospitality offered by your attentive hosts. My room was spacious and comfortable and the ensuite bathroom included a jacuzzi. The hotel is clearly an older building, which full of character, beautifully decorated and furnished throughout. The hotel restaurant provided a very good menu choice. The meals were well presented and accompanied by an excellent recommended wine. Breakfast the following morning was served to guests rather than self-service, and was to a high standard with plenty of choice. There was free parking for our motorcycles adjoining the hotel. The Hotel Peruskenea will live long in the memory when all those nondescript corporate hotels have long been forgotten. I would certainly stay here again. Highly recommended, thank you...
