I am so glad I booked this, it was probably most beautiful experience of my life so far. I was weary at first because it is a bit further from big cities and I was travelling by myself without a car, so it took about 3.5h from Tokyo but it was straightforward. And once I got there I couldn’t stop saying “wow” out loud, literally. Absolutely beautiful environment, atmosphere, everything. I stayed in the junior suite with my own private onsen and not only was the room huge, it was also incredibly comfortable. The river right outside the door added to the whole ambience and was very relaxing. Eating breakfast and dinner by the river with the most delicious food, I was in my own bubble for 2 days. The staff was amazing as well, so friendly and attentive and everyone spoke English very well and was curious about my travels. I arrived when it was raining and the staff even came outside to greet me with an umbrella. I’d 100% come back and have already told others about this place and one of my friends ended up booking it for their Japan trip just a few weeks after I stayed here.

This is an amazing traditional Japanese inn with hot springs. It was great that there are private baths — we were able to try them all, and it was an unforgettable experience. The traditional breakfast was delicious, and the staff were very kind and helpful. Thank you!

Our absolute favorite stay in Japan. The facilities are amazing, with beautiful and relaxing private baths. Our room was simply perfect, tasteful and comfortable with a private bath with splendid view to the river. The location allowed us a couple of relaxing days with short walks around Yugashima onsen, that offers beautiful views. The staff was super friendly and attentive, always available for anything we needed, including shuttle service to the bus station. The breakfast and dinner were excellent, with delicious and fresh traditional dishes. We look forward to returning!
