Hotel Overview

Established in 1892 by the French-Ottoman architect Alexander Vallaury, the Pera Palace is a special category museum hotel designed in neoclassical, art nouveau and oriental styles. The hotel offers spectacular views of the Golden Horn, an indoor pool, and luxurious rooms with city views in the historical Pera district of Istanbul. Popular shopping malls such as Cevahir, Kanyon and Zorlu Mall are easily accessible in 20 minutes via metro line.
Pera Palace Hotel rooms and suites are furnished in a classical style combining European and Ottoman influences. With hardwood floors and floor-to-ceiling windows, they all come equipped with a TV and a minibar. The marble bathrooms are inspired by the traditional hammam. The majority of the rooms are complemented by balconies offering views over Pera and Golden Horn.
Named after murder mystery writer, Agatha Restaurant offers contemporary Turkish cuisine. Orient Bar & Terrace is a popular meeting point for Istanbul’s high society and international travelers. Kubbeli Saloon is a tea lounge and offers gentle live piano music adding to the magical atmosphere.
The classic French patisserie Patisserie de Pera serves delicious Turkish and French-inspired handmade cakes, macaroons, gateaux and homemade chocolates.
Pera SPA by Spa Soul has a hammam with a classic heated marble platform and foam bath. Guests can enjoy the steam bath, hot tub, sauna and a fully equipped gym. The indoor jet-streamed swimming pool offers the healing power of water both in summer and winter.
The lively streets of Istiklal Avenue are just 250 metres from the hotel. Restaurants, clubs, artist ateliers, galleries and museums are only a few steps away. The hotel is within walking distance of Taksim Square, 3 km from the touristic district of old city, 2 km from cruiseline harbour and only 20 km from Atatürk International Airport where airport transfer can be arranged at a surcharge. Istanbul Airport is 48 km away.

The helpful staff are lovely , and we appreciated the careful curation of the hotel's historic assets, which are fantastic. Like being in a film set ( specifically, the ground floor's red velvet- decked afternoon tea room and atmospheric bar). Excellent varied breakfast and generous snack provision in room. Pleasant, restful spa/ pool facilities & vcomfy bed.

The views from the room were spectacular and we enjoyed a beautiful fresh breeze through the French doors. The bed was also extremely comfortable. We received a very warm welcome at reception and the service from the staff was outstanding. We were even given a quick tour of the Agatha Christie room by a very generous staff member. The ride in the historic elevator was really special as was our relaxing visit to the Orient Bar for a few drinks.
