The hosts were lovely, & staff friendly and helpful. Family room a good size (though angled ceiling with low beams, which met my head on a couple of occasions!. Very good plain unpretentious bar food - Steak & ale pie particularly good. Very good location - quiet but cloase to ipswich

Classic Suffolk pub, wood beams, open fires in March, good range of well kept beers on tap. Rooms in an annex so nice a quiet. Landlord, staff and clientele friendly and helpful, good range of pub classics for dinner, excellent full English breakfast. Secure bike parking a plus for cyclists. For the price, a real deal.

Stayed for 3 nights for work. We had 2 rooms. It was all good and breakfast was on the table for 730. Great landlord and staff. Would return and recommend without hesitation.
