Merula “Very sunny and hot, great cool stay at the hotel”

It’s a beautiful old building, and build in a way that in summer really keeps the cool air in which was great to come back to after a day out! The beds were really comfortable, and were made for us every day which was really nice. We had the best view anyone could’ve ever asked for, as we looked straight at the Jungfrau, and I was able to make some great pictures of that from our balcony. They have the nicest dog and cats, who were always a joy to encounter in the hall. Every single one of the staff we encountered were super nice and efficient, and were able to help us really well (and quickly) whenever we needed anything. The location is also really nice, with the buses you’re at either of the stations within a few minutes, while still being in a nice quiet part of Matten, and there’s a nice bit of woods literally right next to the hotel which is great for some walking!

Convenient location near bus stops and a cafe, with friendly staff and smooth check-in/out. They let us store luggage early and even gave bus cards for free rides, which was a plus. The room felt old and had a broken mirror, and considering that, it felt a bit pricey. Overall, a decent stay.
