Chryssoula and Ana truly made us feel like we were staying in a luxurious 5-star hotel! They are absolutely fantastic hosts, and at the same time, it felt just like being at home. Alexandra Guesthouse has a perfect spot – just a 3/5-minute walk from the port and boat taxis, yet it’s situated in a peaceful area away from noisy bars. That’s so important on Hydra, especially if you don’t want to be tired after a long day at the beach or exploring the town. Some hotels are perched high up in the hills, which can be tiring every day (if you’re up for a little workout, go for it, but please don’t rely on poor donkeys for your fun or luggage!). The rooms are spotless – up to the standards of boutique hotels, and all are decorated in a consistent style with everything you need for a comfortable stay on the island. It’s clear that the guesthouse was recently renovated and thoughtfully updated to meet visitors’ needs. I wholeheartedly recommend booking a stay at Alexandra Guesthouse for a wonderful experience on Hydra!

Loved everything, the location, the owners. It is one of the best places in Hydra and if its available for your dates you should book it without a second thought. I have been to hydra 4 times and this was the best place I’ve stayed on the island
