Although all rates are quoted in EUR, please note that charges will be made in ISK according to the exchange rate on the day that the charge is made.If you expect to arrive outside reception opening hours, please inform Hotel Eldhestar in advance.It is recommended to pre-book the horseback riding tours during summer months.The opening hours for the restaurant varies between September 15 - May 15. Please pre-book your food during this period.Please note that during winter, snowstorms or heavy snowfall may prevent us from maintaining the hot tubs properlyPlease inform in advance of your expected arrival time. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly with the contact details provided in your confirmation.

The hotel is in excellent location for our Golden Circle route. It is just under 1 hour from Reykavik and 80 mins from Keflavík Airport. It is 5 mins drive to Hveragerdi for food options but without the light pollution. It was set back enough from route 1 and the surrounding was remote enough for us to spot the Northern Lights. Room is simple but well designed, super clean and very comfortable bed. Love the bathroom too and certainly excellent value for money. It has an equestrian centre onsite but unfortunately we didn’t have enough time to go for a riding tour. Breakfast was simple but adequate.

Eldhestar is set in a beautiful, peaceful location surrounded by nature, which makes it a wonderful place to unwind. We stayed only one night, just to sleep over, but the overall impression was very pleasant. The breakfast was excellent — fresh, varied, and exactly what we needed before continuing our trip. The hotel itself feels cozy and welcoming, and we appreciated the calm atmosphere. There are also two hot tubs available for guests, which is a great feature, even though we didn’t have the chance to use them.
