Great location in a pretty village, directly behind the village pub with free parking. The row of 3 studio cottages are fairly compact but well equipped and thoughtfully laid out, with king-sized (possibly super king-sized) bed, comfortable chairs, TV, breakfast bar with stools, and a modern, clean bathroom with large walk-in showers. A door at the back gave access to a quiet courtyard area with seating, making it easy with our small dog (not a secure area though, but this wasn't a problem for us). Items were provided for a continental breakfast (tea, coffee, sugar, milk, orange juice, bread, butter, jam, marmalade, honey) which was a nice touch. We ate a lovely meal in the pub on our first night (amazing sticky toffee pudding) and returned for a couple of drinks (after fish and chips in Whitby) on our final night. Staff in the bar were friendly and helpful. There were several other cafes in the village, so spoilt for choice. Great location for Helmsley, Pickering, Malton, Whitby and lots of other smaller villages in the area. It's a beautiful area of the country and worth a visit. This accommodation that we were fortunate to book last-minute was a great find.

It's a great place to stay if you're planning day trips in the area. The "Rose" cottage is cozy and makes you feel right at home. Be sure to grab a bite to eat at the Crown Pub—the food is excellent!
