We loved the setting in this beautiful mountain village. The hotel gardens are lovely, but the rooms are cramped. We understand it is an historical hotel (we last visited 40 years ago) and that renovations cost a lot of money, but the corridors and public areas could do with a serious revamp. They are looking musty and tired. The en-suite to our room was new and modern, but that was about all we could say of the room. Wi-Fi is only available in the public areas, which was inconvenient. The bar and eating areas were nice, though, and staff were friendly. Our room was made up each day - a big plus.

Everything, we had a warm welcome and great hospitality from everyone from the owner to the cleaners. The bar and food was good and great value (the fillet steak was world class!)

The breakfast including a fruit starter and hot meal and coffee was very good. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. We loved the suite we stayed in with a sunny patio and a big glass sliding door with a view of the little stream. We loved the fireplace in the bedroom with wood and firelighters supplied.

It’s an amazing little gem hidden away - it is old and dated but this is the charm. If u looking for 4stars. Go somewhere else. If I looking for a charming place where they try with what resources and finance they have. Support this establishment.
