Urszula “A long weekend stay at Hillegom”

The B&B was located in a quiet neighbourhood, a few minutes' walk from the train station in one direction and the centre of town and our bus stop in the other. An electric bike hire was just across the street, which we'd have used had we stayed in Hillegom for longer. There were plenty of walking routes to enjoy around the town and beyond. The village is within 15 minutes by car from the airport. It also has train and bus connections with Leiden and Haarlem. The shopping precinct has many shops selling everyday basics and clothes, and some nice restaurants, such as the family-friendly Lunchbreek, and the more sophisticated Alternatif. We had a very tasty lunch of fish and chips in the latter. The owner drew his inspiration for this dish from his time dining at the Dome in Edinburgh.

Great host. Nicole went over and above to make our stay pleasant. Nicole even organised for our bike rental to be available early so we could make it to the tulip fields before the crowds. Bed was extremely comfortable also. The property was also exceptionally clean and tidy and breakfast was good.

Everything was wonderful regarding my stay at Liv Inn and could not ask for more! The location is very handy to the train station which is well connected as a jumping off point to explore. Nicole could not have been more accommodating and friendly, I had some timing issues arriving and she very kindly allowed an early check in and was patient when things went wrong! The room is super comfortable and well appointed with a coffee machine, fridge and ability to connect Netflix. Lovely bathroom and great amenities provided. Beautiful view out into the country side, I came for Tulip season and was thrilled, would book again for any exploring in the area. Also very close to Keukenhof allowing you to enjoy a peaceful early start. Nicole is an absolutely fabulous host and kindly gave me some home made Easter bread as well. She offered for any planning help I needed and was super friendly. Would recommend Liv Inn to anyone!

Amazing host, great location for Tulips and gardens. Beautiful room with great en suite and very, very clean. Nothing was too much trouble for the host - she even got in touch months prior to our visit with advice on booking Keukenhof tickets well in advance. So glad we did as it was sold out shortly after!
