Good location in a small village. The room was a good size and comfortable.

Breakfast full English was dry although egg Benedict was nice and fresh, toast was fresh and plenty of tea, coffee and cereal choice.

The location was great. The breakfast was okay, although I only ordered scrambled egg on toast. (Not an easy wow)

Read some very poor reviews that may have led me to cancel if it wasn't for knowing the hotel from a stay last year, To counter those reviews, room was clean, everything worked, the food was very good and prompt and staff friendly and helpful. The beautiful garden was a great selling point. Location on the square at Helmsley could not be better. Took our dog and the hotel could not have been any more dog friendly if it tried. We we warned in advance there were building works in progress but they had no impact on our stay, did not notice them at all, so don't be put off.
