The staff at the Birch Hotel were excellent, very helpful and friendly throughout the trip and always going above and beyond. I was attending a reception after a funeral in one of the function rooms, which had been beautifully set out and staffed. There are several very nice communal areas, with some beautiful details (perhaps more could be made of the building's interesting history). This meant there were plenty of places to go outside of the bedroom, which provided a change of scenery when meeting friends for afternoon coffee and pre-dinner drinks.

Very friendly helpful staff, my girlfriend and I were staying following me having an operation at nearby Princess Royal Hospital, the staff could not do enough for me, really excellent service.
