My partner and I had an amazing stay at Ivy House at The Lakes. From the moment we arrived, the staff were absolutely incredible—friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. The whole place was spotlessly clean, which made our stay even more comfortable. We were especially pleased that it’s pet-friendly, as we brought our greyhound along, and they even had treats waiting for him—a lovely touch! The location is perfect, right in the middle of the village, making it easy to explore the area. There’s also a car park, which is really convenient. Breakfast was delicious, with a great selection to start the day. And the decor throughout the house is beautiful, giving it a warm and inviting feel. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would highly recommend Ivy House to anyone looking for a welcoming and comfortable getaway. We’ll definitely be back!

Amazing Full English Breakfast. Spotlessly clean rooms. Great location in Hawkeshead village, ideal for local pubs, restaurants and walks. Lattebarrow and Tarn Hows were easily accessible. The site has free parking which is a big bonus as the car parks in the Lake District are expensive

We loved everything about this place!! Kate and Paul are amazing hosts and will go that extra mile for you The afternoon tea was lovely. If we didn't like something, it was changed without any fuss and we were made to feel really special the moment we entered the building. We'll definitely be staying again.

The property is beautiful, done up to a great standard. Rooms are spacious and comfy, clean and well provisioned. The owners, Kate and Paul, are super lovely and couldn't do enough to help us - as well as providing an outstanding breakfast! The parking is easy to access and the guest house is perfectly located on the entrance into the town. Very quiet, peaceful, comfy beds - such a lovely stay!
