The fine print
It is recommended to book in advance should you wish to eat in the restaurant during your stay. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details provided in your confirmation.We are huge dog fans here and selected rooms are dog friendly. Please contact us directly if you wish to bring your dog with you. A £10 per dog, per night charge will be added to your bill for additional cleaning of the room. For the comfort of our guests, please note we only accept quiet and very well-behaved dogs - should your dog show signs of aggression or is uncomfortable around other dogs or people, please do not bring them.

We came to the George for my husbands birthday for one night and really enjoyed it. The hotel and staff are amazing and the room had a huge comfy bed with lovely white company soaps and shampoo, coffee machine, water and the staff had left some chocolates and a note for my husband which i thought was a lovely touch. We did have a room at the front of the hotel which was really noisy from the road traffic, which if i had know would of asked for a room at the back as i am a really light sleeper.The breakfast service was really slow and we waited 45 minutes but when it arrived the produce was really good and the staff were really friendly. I would highly recommend the hotel but would suggest maybe putting earplugs in the bedroom and more staff at beskfast😉.

Lovely building and surroundings good location..room was a little disappointing.. toilet seat and handle broken and damp on the ceiling in the bedroom pillows could be better abit on the flat side

Very nice pub/hotel the only thing that we feel let it down was the food, nothing was freshly cooked all had been pre-cooked sometime before it was served, breakfast and dinner could have been so much better and we would probably have eaten there more often.

The accommodation was excellent. The ambiance in the bar and restaurant was great and the had a nice outside terrace for drinks. The food was just about ok. We went for a pizza the second night which was better.

The location is excellent for the village of Hathersage with good free parking. The room was well equipped and looked like it had been recently fe furbished but in a style appropriate for the building. The food in the main restaurant was excellent very well prepared and delicious. The staff although very busy were all very friendly and helpful.

A comfortable and relaxing hotel with efficient staff. The inside of the building has been thoroughly modernised and is warm and clean. I particularly liked the size of the room and the provision of ample drawer and wardrobe space. The two of us had two dinners in the hotel restaurant, one with our vegetarian grandson. All five meals were excellent. There is a wide choice of breakfasts. If you are booked for B&B, you can have any breakfast on the menu.
