What a brilliant location and what a wonderful set of owners who are looking to do something different in the area. I very much enjoyed our stay and will be looking to revisit once they have finalised all of their new menu.

The staff were lovely and under the circumstances, having just taken ownership doing their best. We understand the previous owners had let things get rather run down and photos on this website are not a true reflection. The hotel, under new ownershi, really has the potential to flourish but care needs to be taken for them to upgrade what they have inherited and give it 110%. The staff themselves were very welcoming and we wish them all success for the future.

Under new management and only in their 2nd week, have run in to a few issues, but overall the staff are doing a great job of keeping things going and were very hospitable and helpful to us during our stay. The food was exceptional, looking forward to seeing how this place develops.

Great location, in the heart of the very pretty village of Hartington. We were there for cycling and there are numerous great rides directly from the hotel. The hotel itself has a lot of history and is very interesting. The evening meals were to a high standard; the breakfasts were well-cooked, though with limited choice.
