On arrival, we were offered a room upgrade, which allowed us to spend the rainy parts of the day looking out of the window and enjoying a cup of tea. You should bring your own tea bags, but there is a fully equipped kitchen you can use — also very handy for cutting fruit. There is a spacious open area where you can sit and meet other travellers. The terrace was closed due to the weather, but the view from up there is fantastic. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We had breakfast at the neighboring guesthouse, and it was awesome.

The view from the terrace / common area over the valley is incredible! Perfect for a rainy afternoon and to watch the sunset.

Trail Town Lodge was an excellent choice for our stay in Haputale. The location was ideal, especially since we were traveling by public transportation and didn’t want to go deep into the town.. it’s just a short walk to Haputale town center. The place is very well maintained, and the cleanliness was exceptional. All the basic amenities we needed for our overnight stay were available and very satisfactory. The bed was modern and comfortable, making our stay even better. Overall, it was great value for the money we spent. The only area for improvement would be adding the option for card payments. If that was available, I’d definitely rate this place 10/10, for now, it’s a solid 9/10!
