This accommodation feels more like a cozy cabin with individual rooms. Yoko was incredibly friendly, helpful, and accommodating throughout our stay. The room was a great size for our small family, with a walk-in wardrobe that made it easy to store our luggage and belongings. The shared kitchen and dining area, located just off the hallway, was well-equipped with all the basics needed for cooking. There are two spacious and easily accessible toilet/shower rooms, which was very convenient. While there’s no TV, we really enjoyed the opportunity to meet and chat with other travelers—it added a warm, communal vibe to the experience.

Amazing location. You can walk straight into town. Lovely owners who were so helpful and shared their local knowledge about good hikes. The blazing fire is super cosy and the massage chair a treat. Everything spotlessly clean. My favourite hostel on our South Island trip.

Friendly greeting by host Tristan, on my arrival. It was a great welcoming to all facilities, and the house was so warm. The wood fire keeps everyone toasty. There is a fixed massage chair included for guest use and parking availability.

Host was really friendly and bed was pretty comfortable. Kitchen was great but might be too small when there’s lots of people cooking. Bathrooms also seemed nice and clean. There was a really nice homely vibe and the people we chatted to were lovely. Also a free massage chair! One of the nicer hostels we’ve stayed in
