Lovely friendly pub. Room was very comfortable and had everything I needed. My dog was also very welcome. Lovely and peaceful with beautiful views over the fields.

Everything was absolutely perfect, exceptionally clean, the staff were all amazingly friendly and the sense of community and family made it so special. I was travelling alone with work and can feel really unsafe in some hotels, but I felt so safe here, and it’s so clear how much Brian and Nicki care about their guests and their staff. The food is made to order and they use as much local produce as they can, and it’s so clear how valued they are in the community. I really hope they all know how much that value shines as soon as you enter the front door. Breakfast was incredible, as was the dinner the night before. I’ve included a picture of my lasagna because i was obsessed!! Really made me feel so so welcome and I am so grateful, I can’t wait to come back!!

The pub is at the centre of the village and seems like the heart of village life. The regulars and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast was excellent and certainly ample.

Very nice property, very clean, no issues with the room everything provided you could possibly need. Staff were very polite nothing was too much trouble. Had an upgrade to room on arrival which was nice. Surrounding area is very rural so great views and relaxing if you’re getting out of the city for a relaxing weekend, overall outstanding and would definitely recommend.

Always a lovely stay. Superb friendly staff and the food is great, would recommend having an evening meal in the restaurant. Have stayed a few times now and will be back for sure.

We were made to feel so welcome. The Shoulder of Mutton is very much a traditional local pub with rooms and exactly what we wanted for our one night stay
