It’s worth noting that if you stay two days, you spend the second day on the day boat going further into the bay and exploring a ‘fishing village’ on one of the islands. The day boat is large and there is a toilet and space to change your clothes if you wish to kayak or swim. If you hate guided tours, then this isn’t for you. That said, the tour guides do their best to look after you and lunch was great. It was unclear to me when I booked that the amount of moving in the main boat is limited for the stay, the government apparently have guidelines on where and when all boats can move, so you will find all the cruise boats do similar at the same time and moar up within sight of each other in the bay each day, (66 in total- there are over 500 in Ha long bay- so this is a better option) Staff were excellent, food was excellent (although far too much for us!) and it was relaxing (when we got a chance to sit still).

Our travel guides ,Sunday Alex and Tommy were amazing. Food was superb. A 2 night stay is a must otherwise you miss out on a true Halong Bay experience.

The boat was lovely, bedrooms have a great view - you can lie in bed and watch the islands go by! The staff are so friendly, we had an issue with our payment card and they were so helpful. The food is absolutely incredible. We did two nights and visited Cat Ba Island for some biking and some top notch seafood!
