“Great apartment, too many stairs for me”
25 May 2025
Modern, well equipped apartment, shops & hotel nearby. Above shops but the only noise was from the regularly passing police & ambulance.

“Excellent find, will definitely book again.”

Great communications from the host. Bed was super comfy, apartment was well stocked and exceptionally clean. Kitchen was well equipped and some essentials left by owner to avoid having to buy oil etc. Apartment is above a shop and has 2 flights of steep steps, so just avoid if mobility is restricted but from memory this is indicated in the details of the property. Parking is in a small alley at back of the shops which can be a little tight, but is fine. Everything was lovely location is quiet but with easy access into town centre by car. There is a cafe on the opposite corner, a butchers, clothes shop, and pizza place across the road. A great find and would absolutely book this property again. Bathroom is lovely, with separate bathroom at top of first steps outside the living and kitchen area.

“Smashing place, comfortable, warm, well appointed and well located”

A very clean, seemingly very new and well maintained apartment in a very nice part of town. Very well equipped overall with some useful things like salt and pepper, oil, tea and coffee, sugar, cleaning stuff, iron and board. It could do with a few little touches like a coffee table, chopping board and oven gloves. It was very warm when we arrived with the heating on (handy in December). The Freeview signal was a bit wobbly but it's a Smart TV so works well on the very good WiFi (you can also plug in a laptop using the HMDI cable from the BlueRay player). Despite being on the main road the traffic noise is not at all intrusive. In the evenings it is very quiet. There are a couple of small, well stocked food shops, including the one in the PO directly below. There is a truly excellent butchers and a couple of coffee shops and a well recommended pub (plus a takeaway, but we didn't try that). The centre of Halifax is only a 25 minute easy walk. Parking is tricky. There is a space in the alley at the rear (first come first served) but you have to be careful not to block the delivery door for the Post Office. Much of the area is resident permit parking Monday to Friday 0800 to 1900 with some limited parking in these zones during these house. The rest is pay and display costing £3 for more than 5 hours (very good value), so you can park all day, but have to be back at the car for 8am to put in a new ticket. We parked successfully at the back and a visitor found on street parking easily enough. We have already booked for next year.
