The location was excellent—a short walk to the village restaurants, cafes, and bus terminal. Chikako and Koji provided lovely, welcoming service. It was great to be dropped off and picked up from the ski fields each day and they were only to happy to help book excursions and restaurants. Breakfast was provided with a good selection of cooked and continental. I particularly enjoyed the Onsen at the end of each day skiing.

Staying at the Guest house exceeded our expectations and that was primarily because of the amazing hospitality provided by Koji, Chikako and the crew. From the dropping off and picking up from anywhere inclusive of the mountains, Onsens, dinners any booking really. The snow was relentless and they all worked really hard to clear the snow so they could still get us to where we wanted to go, morning or night. The location is awesome, a really nice walk into Happo and not to much further Echoland :) Breaksfast also surpassed our expectations, bacon, eggs, toast cereal, yoghurt, provided for a great start for the day and Chikako cooks up a lovely chicken curry for dinner for a little extra money should you want to eat in :) The guest house also had a really nice vibe to meet new people and just hangout :) We won't be staying anywhere else in Hakuba, this is our #1 go to and are already looking forward to returning next year. Staying at The Guest House in Hakuba was an absolute dream! From the moment we arrived, the two owners went above and beyond to make my friends and me feel completely at home. Their hospitality was unmatched—they created such a warm, welcoming environment that it truly felt like we were staying with family. Not only were they incredibly kind and accommodating, but they also helped us with absolutely everything we needed—whether it was recommendations for the best ski spots, assistance with transportation, or even just sharing great conversations that made our stay extra special. Their genuine care and dedication to their guests make this place unforgettable. The property itself is immaculate—incredibly well-kept, spacious, and thoughtfully designed to provide the perfect balance of comfort and convenience. Whether it was relaxing in the cozy common areas or unwinding after a day on the slopes, everything about The Guest House exceeded our expectations. I cannot imagine staying anywhere else in Hakuba. This has become my go-to spot, and I know I’ll be returning every single year. If you’re looking for more than just a place to stay—somewhere that feels like home with hosts who truly care—this is it. Thank you for an amazing experience!

I did not know transport to and from the ski resorts was included, so that was a super convenient surprise. Koji & Chikaki are also the best hosts. My first night they served pizza around the campfire which was great:) the house itself is spacious and the atmposphere very homeley.
