I loved my stay at Mount View, the location is up near the mountains and fields. The dining experience was exceptional—you are guided to your table, where a meal is already waiting for you. They make sure to ask beforehand if you have any dietary restrictions and curate a beautifully cooked meal with stunning flavour and presentation. The onsen was wonderful - I did the private and public ones- both worthwhile and the rooms are comfortable and have everything you need. You are given a yukata to wear around the hotel which makes it very comfortable and easy for guests. There is a very nice shop inside the hotel for you to browse - I bought a few things from there- reasonably priced. I booked two nights but looking back, I’d have enjoyed staying longer. The hotel itself is a standalone experience- couple that with Hakone’s free pass and it’s been by far my favourite part of my Japan adventure.
