The public onsen was great and the outdoor area was beautiful. We also walked down to a nearby lake (about 20 mins walk) which was nice and had a few restaurants. We travelled to the hotel by bus from Odawara which took just over an hour. The bus was very crowded but affordable and the bus stop is a fairly short walk from the hotel. The hotel also offers a shuttle bus service to the bus stop/cable car but we did not use this personally.

Hotel Green Plaza Hakone offers a truly fantastic stay thanks to its breathtaking views of Mount Fuji and its peaceful, quiet surroundings. The setting is very relaxing and feels secluded, making it perfect for unwinding. The hotel is conveniently located near the ropeway station, making it ideal for starting the Hakone loop, and the shuttle service provided is very helpful. The staff are kind and welcoming. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent, with a wide variety of choices and very good quality food. The room was massive compared to typical Japanese hotels and included a private onsen, which was a real highlight and made the experience even more special.

The view is simply amazing. Food was good. Bedroom is huge compared to other Japanese hotels.
