Very authentic. Room with amazing river view. Private pools can be reserved easily and were really lovely with actual spa water. Great friendly service. The building is very old and beautiful

Sound of the river in the room was stunning, and the meals were great. Having the onsens on site was so convenient and made for a relaxing start/end to the day.

The stay in the ryokan was excellent. The staff looked after us very well and the property was well maintained.. The dinner was also amazing, very tasty and very good looking dishes. To use the private onsens we had to book a slot, however there were plenty of slots available.

Staying at Fukuzumiro was a truly immersive way to experience traditional Japanese culture. Founded in 1890, the building carries a timeless charm - winding wooden corridors, a peaceful koi pond where you can feed the fish, beautiful gardens, and views of the river all make you feel transported to another era. We enjoyed an incredible kaiseki dinner and breakfast, and our attendant was exceptionally kind and friendly, ensuring we had everything we needed for a perfect stay. The ryokan has several onsen baths, including some that can be reserved for privacy. My husband and I stayed in the Sakura 2 room, which had its own private onsen - truly the highlight of our honeymoon in Japan. We only wish we could have stayed longer than one night. It was an absolute pleasure, and we hope to return one day. Thank you for having us!
