Great ryokan, great staff, great onsen. All were helpful and kind, also made beds for us if we did not wanted to stay on futons as we are from Europe. Amazing experience, would definitely visit again!

Our stay at Ajisai Onsen Ryokan was absolutely amazing. The onsen and the facilities in general were great and the dinner/breakfast was also extremely good. But the best part was the staff. We had some trouble with lost luggage and the staff did everything they could to help us. I'd love to give a 11/10 rating!

We enjoyed the immersive experience on the whole: the japanese style room, the meals, the yukata, etc. Even having to shower/bathe in the onsen, for us, enriched the experience. The staff were all very kind and attentive. It's close to the cablecar making it fairly easy to get to Gora, or to access the Hakone loop (from the cable car station, it's only a couple of stops to Souzan where you can access the ropeway to Owakudani and then lake Ashi). The ryokan provides simple meals at night, which is great. The kaiseki dinner is delicious - we had it only one night. Breakfast is also delicious both Western and Japanese versions. Also, it was very easy to book times in the onsen - you can book once in the morning and twice in the afternoon/evening. We did not miss having a shower in the room - but please be warned that there is no shower or bath in the room!
