This is a memorable hotel in a great location overlooking the city of Guimaraes. The original monastic buildings have been sensitively restored to accommodate guests in comfortable rooms, with a bar, an excellent restaurant and a breakfast room. All this has been accomplished without violating the architectural integrity of the original structure. Beautiful cloisters, landscaped gardens, azulejo tiled terraces, and state rooms remain open to guests and they add to the authenticity and haunting ambience of this hotel. In addition, there is a large outside swimming pool with bar and several alfresco patios for relaxing and sunbathing. The outstanding environment and amenities are matched by the attentive, friendly and courteous service provided by the staff. This is in every respect a superlative hotel and we recommend it unreservedly.

it's a beautiful building and gardens. very charming. Staff are the best. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Short and cheap taxi ride to the old town for meals out.

The hotel met all our expectations. Lovely breakfasts, lunches by the pool and evening meals were great. All staff were very welcoming and courteous in all they did. The surroundings were wonderful and we enjoyed a relaxing time.
