The Hotel location is excellent for exploring the historic centre of Toural. Breakfast was served to the table, with a selection of pastries, bread, regional specialities, yoghurt, fresh fruit salad, cold ham and cheese as well as freshly prepared eggs. Our room was spacious, and quiet if a little dated. On the whole it was clean and made up daily with replenished soap etc. There was plenty of hot water when we needed it.

The view was not very friendly. Once i reserved the room 2 weeks ago, i think i deserved a better one with no roof view

LOCATION: Situated within the Centro Historico, the hotel is: ~ a minute's walk from the section of the old city wall declaring "Aqui Nasceu Portugal" and from Largo do Toural ~ a 2-min walk from the Largo da Oliveira, the Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Oliveira, and from the Museu de Alberto Sampaio ~ a 5-min walk from the Convento e Igreja de São Francisco, the Museu Martins Sarmento, and from the Zona dos Couros ~ and a 15-min walk from Guimarães Castle and from the Paço dos Duques de Bragança. STAFF: Reception was always helpful, and happy to give you their time over queries about the hotel's history. Like the team that personally serves breakfast to your table, they know old-world warmth. AMENITIES: The hotel is within walking distance of the best of Guimarães's cafés, restaurants, and shops (including several supermercados: Froiz, Bolama, Pingo Doce, and others). ACCESSIBILITY: The hotel is a short taxi ride from both the train station and the coach station. If one is travelling light, with not much luggage, it is within pleasant walking distance of both the train station and the coach station.
