Ellen, Joe and their team are wonderful! The guest house is located not to far from the city center (15-20 min by foot) and it is clean. They offer excursions like a cruise on the li river and the longi rice terrasse visit. I had a great experience, thank you Ellen and Joe for everything! I recommand it.

I had an amazing stay at Guilin Cyan Box Guest Hostel! Joe, Ellen, Bob, and the rest of the staff and volunteers were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They went above and beyond—helping me plan my itinerary, organizing group dinners, and even inviting everyone out to the local bar. The social atmosphere made it super easy to meet other travelers and create genuine connections. Whether you’re traveling solo or with friends, this place feels like home. Without a doubt, one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in. Highly recommended!

The hostel gave PERSONAL service, they made us feel welcome from moment we arrived, took us to local restaurants and ordered for us , we went out to eat as a group and had dumpling making event with loads of rice wine

Joe the owner was amazing, very helpful with organising our stay. He is also passionate about helping to foster the backpacking community in his city. The room was nice, plenty of space, and the hostel has a nice vibe.
