The location was perfect - very close to the bus station and conveniently located on the main square.

The breakfast is at another Hotel on the top floor (stair only access), and has a great view of the lake. You get a voucher to take there and eat and it is nice. The rooms are basic, there is no air con (but you don't need AC really), the shower didn't have a head on it so it was like a garden hose, but it was nice and hot. The room next to the street (city view), is rather noisy - the rooms at the back with no view are a fair bit quieter. The location is excellent however and the bus, the town and lake are all within easy walking distance. So of course being in the center of town comes with noise but also fantastic access to everything Guatape has to offer. The hotel is very cute and old styled on the outside, but reasonably modern on the inside. Beds are a bit on the firm side. The price is also high for Colombian prices. I think 120,000COP is more of a fair price, but I was charged over 200,000COP for one night.

We had a balcony over the square and it was amazing watching the nightlife. A bit noisy when the live band came on until 2am, but great fun. Helpful and lovely staff.

Really good value for money, right in the centre of town. Friendly staff and nice breakfast at a hotel just a few doors along.
