Beautiful setting, we couldn't use the garden due to the weather but guests have an area they can sit outside with spectacular views. It's close to the village pub, (worthy of a visit) and Lake District. The village is very pretty and if we weren't going to an art workshop we would have explored some of the local walks. The lady who owns it is very friendly and has good local knowledge having lived in the area for quite some time. Very comfortable beds and the private bathroom is adequate size for a weekend break. Breakfast was fantastic and a great choice to suit all tastes. Parking is available on site, would advise that if you are using Google Maps it doesn't take you to the property. The property is located just after a little close,(Orchard Close I think), if you are coming from the village centre. Very clean

“Would recommend and would certainly stay here again.”

Location was lovely, right next to the castle and the local pub. The style of the place was eclectic cottage style which was wonderful. The breakfast options were endless, full English, smoked salmon on bagels, fresh fruit and many other things. Gill and Will were very accommodating, welcoming and friendly.

Bathroom fan too noisey and drain odour coming from basin. Basin far too small, especially with overhanging vanity unit. House had lovely rustic feel to it and breakfast room and hall was full of interesting ornaments and nicely furnished. Cooked breakfast was tasty and coffee great, but for £180 would have expected cereal, yoghurt and croissant as well.
