The flat was spacious, very clean, well equipped and very comfortable for a couple staying. The owner gave us a warm welcome once we had settled in, and there was a welcome pack including milk and bread. What made the property outstanding was the decking terrace accessed from the living room and giving lovely views across a well-tended garden to a lake. There were ducks on the lake which came up the garden and we saw a heron standing on the far side of the lake on each of the days we stayed. It was easy to walk from the property to the River Wyre where there was a small toll bridge. The flat was on the ground floor with access via steps and a well-placed handle made using the steps easier. The parking space was clearly marked and we were invited to use an external plug to charge our electric car if we needed to.

Merok Lodge is in an excellent location with a backdrop over a pond with ducks (which Joan leave food for) coming into the garden, I can’t say enough about the accommodation and hosts.

Everything! The view of the lake and beautiful garden. The closeness to the coast yet far enough away to be relaxing and peaceful. The hosts attention to detail, making sure there were essentials in the property on arrival. The jacuzzi bath. The comfy bed. Even food for the ducks!
