Went to Bayreuth for the Bayreuth Festival, and this hostel was the cheapest alternative in the city. It was a really pleasant stay, with clean facilities and a decent breakfast included in the price. You can reach the city by walk in like 20 minutes, but there is also a bus stop nearby. It totally did meet my expectations.

The whole place is very well thought out - very new feeling. We booked a 'twin' - it would in fact have slept 4 - there were 2 beds down each side of the room, with plenty of storage space. The breakfast (whihc was available for a long time in the morning) had plenty of choice. Bathroom was basic but clean and efficient. Bathmat was included. it's a bit out of town but very handy for the enormous swimming pool complex of Bayreuth. We didn't use them but there were some outside courts of sorts which we saw families using. The staff were very helpful. there was also plenty of parking space if you had a car. We were on public transport and the walk into the centre of town is about 20-25 minutes, a bit more for the station and festspielhaus.
