Really clean and comfortable cottage with plenty of character, modern kitchen and bathroom, very spacious bedrooms, living room and conservatory, and a beautiful secure garden - this cottage was perfect for our family and for our dog too. There was even a dog crate in the conservatory so wouldn't have needed to bring our own. Everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Location was fantastic for the Lake District, very close to Windermere, etc. and very close to coastline (no beach access but coastal walks within walking distance, about 20 minutes walk). We had never been to Buttermere but were able to use this cottage as a base to make the drive there too - well worth the journey. Lots of lovely villages to visit nearby and for food lovers you're spoilt for choice with the Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding Company only 5 or 10 minutes walk away (the sticky toffee pudding ice cream they do is also fantastic!), and the Hope and Anchor pub and Flounder's fish and chip shop/Chinese takeaway on the same street. Post Office next door and convenience store across the road for anything you might need.

The location was good and the house was very comfortable, clean and facilities were excellent. We also thought good for a winter holiday.
