The highlight of our stay at the hotel was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Our stay was at a difficult time when exceptional rain and storms caused the cancellation of our ferry and then flight to the North Island. The staff made us feel very welcome, and Emily put a lot of time and effort into helping us get back to Christchurch after our stay. we needed to return to Christchurch, but had we not been able to they made it very clear to us that somehow they would accommodate us for longer. we really appreciated that. The food was good and served by very friendly staff.

Nice couple of night's stay at Governor's Bay! Friendly staff, tidy room with comfortable bed and large shared verandah with great views over the bay. Decent meal in the bar.
