The room was amazing. Charming and cosy but with all modern conveniences. And with a lovely view with mountains in the distance. The staff were warm and friendly, and treated you like old friends. The WiFi was the best I've experienced in a hotel. The restaurant had great food, with a warm woodburning fireplace.

The food was excellent- both breakfasts and dinners. Portions were very large , well presented and the food was delicious. The bar was well stocked with an amazing collection of gins. The lunchtime buffet for a reception was first class. Staff were great - friendly and helpful.

Staff very helpful and welcoming. There was a festival and live music during our stay which we enjoyed as well. For the first time we were visiting Cumbria and I think we've chosen one of the best spots, close to sea side, mountains, lake and amazing castle, everything within 30 minutes drive or less.
