The Yurt was in a great spot, right next to the shop and overlooking an attractive garden. The Yurt was nicely and authentically styled with plenty of useful items and a lovely wood fire. There was great outdoor furniture, crockery and blankets. How was a great host, easy with communication, helpful and friendly. He put himself out to assist us with various things, including opening the shop after hours for us to buy provisions. Gigha was a super island to visit and thoroughly recommend.

Gigha is worth so much more than quickly nipping across from the mainland for a few hours and if you decide to make a few days of it then the Yurt could be for you. It’s really cozy when that little stove gets going and perhaps strangely one of my best memories of the trip was the wettest day, sitting by the stove reading and listening to the rain. The hosts made us very welcome and comfortable without being the least intrusive. The Post Office is right there if you need provisions, the Sea Food Shack is close by if you don’t fancy cooking and there’s a nice restaurant down at the quayside so that covers the catering pretty well. The yurt is a genuine Mongolian model as well with a story to tell about its journey to Gigha. Great fun.

Unique accomodation on Gigha - all in all a great glamping experience. Perfectly situated near ferry, restaurant, bike hire and shop. Very friendly and helpful hosts. It was our second time at the yurt and very very very happy yet again.
