Ashot and Alvard are the greatest hosts! They will make you feel like you're visiting your grandparents' house, offering you tasy homemade food and drinks. Don't hesitate to stay here when in Goris :)

Great and very helpful owners, tasty food, better than in some of the capital's restaurants. Ingredients from the local garden. Nice and spacey room, cool and simple design, toilet outside. This house is 150 years old. Convenient location near the center. Waking distance to the caves (Goris part). Tip: this is real house where people do live. You will have an opportunity to talk to the owners, drink tea, socialize. Note: shaking bridge is in the next village, Khndzoresk, you need to take marszrutka or car to get there. Note: The Legends trail goes through Goris (Khndzoresk to Kapan, 150 km), good stuff for hikers. Before you start trekking ask local people about the current situation near the boarder. Some parts of the trail get really close to the boarder and may become uncertain. I skept some parts not far from Kapan.

Anyone wishing to take a lesson in hospitality should visit this place. These are people motivated by a passion for what they do and genuine interest. From the moment you arrive you will understand why they’ve scored a perfect 10!

The hosts;their warmth. The food. Where else can you be given a masterclass in foraging mushrooms on the mountain-siide and then be served mushroom omelette for breakfast. Arranging onward travel. Everything written about 'Ashot Shalunts' by previous reviewers is true. Wonderful.
